A man died in a house fire at Marunji on Mon­day. Co­bram Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit and other spe­cial­ist ser­vices in­ves­ti­gated the cause of the fire and deemed it not sus­pi­cious.


About $2000 of tools and elec­tri­cal items were stolen from a Co­bram South Rd home. Of­fend­ers en­tered the farm house some­time be­tween 4 pm on Novem­ber 27 and 7 am Wed­nes­day.

Chain­saws, beer brew­ing equip­ment and other items were stolen from a Main St, Strath­mer­ton, prop­erty some­time be­tween Novem­ber 20 and Novem­ber 22. The of­fend­ers forced the door of the unit open and stole $12 000 worth of goods.

A Mur­ray Val­ley Hwy busi­ness had a win­dow smashed on Novem­ber 25 at 4.30 am. The win­dow is worth about $2000 to fix.

A blue and white Gi­ant moun­tain bike worth $2700 was stolen from the front yard of a Sil­ver Crt home on Novem­ber 25, some­time be­tween 2 am and 8 am.

House­hold items, in­clud­ing an air-com­pres­sor and red bi­cy­cle, were stolen af­ter of­fend­ers forced open the door of a Mur­ray St prop­erty some­time be­tween noon on Novem­ber 23 and 2.30 pm on Novem­ber 25.

Co­bram High­way Pa­trol and Moira uni­form po­lice will focus on tow­ing of­fences dur­ing the hol­i­day pe­riod.

Po­lice said mo­torists have a re­spon­si­bil­ity to make sure what they are tow­ing (trail­ers, car­a­vans, boats, etc) are se­cure and road­wor­thy.
