The Coffs Coast Advocate - - YOUR SAY -

ON OCTOBER 7, my neighbour’s house caught fire. I would like to thank firstly, the two young men on motorbikes who stopped to help me.

While one dialled 000 and I banged on windows calling out, the other, still in his helmet and gear, trained the garden hose on the flames until emergency services arrived.

In the following bedlam they quietly slipped away. Whoever you are, my neighbour and I owe you a huge thank you and our gratitude.

Secondly, huge thanks to our fireys and police for their immediate response, calm control of the situation and reassuring manner.

As a community we tend not to give a great deal of thought to their existence but I would like them to know that as a community we greatly appreciate the work they do, acknowledge their jobs aren’t “easy” but we would be lost without you. Loraine Huggett
