From Rus­sia with love

COFFS Har­bour Mu­sic So­ci­ety is proudly pre­sent­ing a per­for­mance by Rus­sian con­cert pian­ist Arseny Tara­se­vich-Niko­laev, prize win­ner of the 2016 Syd­ney In­ter­na­tional Pi­ano Com­pe­ti­tion.

In April, Arseny made his de­but with the Lon­don Phil­har­monic Orchestra with Rach­mani­noff ’s Pi­ano Con­certo No. 2 and has re­cently com­pleted a tour of Europe un­der the ba­ton of Sir Roger Nor­ring­ton with Beethoven’s Pi­ano

Con­certo No. 5. He has re­cently be­come an ex­clu­sive record­ing artist for Decca Clas­sics and his first CD un­der this la­bel will be re­leased in 2018.

Arseny was born in Moscow (1993) into a mu­si­cal fam­ily, the grand­son of fa­mous Rus­sian pian­ist Tatyana Niko­layeva, who was also a life­long friend of Dmitri Shostakovich.

Arseny stud­ied at the Cen­tral School of Mu­sic at Moscow State Tchaikovsky Con­ser­va­toire, grad­u­at­ing with hon­ours.

The pro­gram he will be bring­ing to Coffs Har­bour cel­e­brates some of the most well­known pieces from the pi­ano reper­toire; Mozart’s Fan­ta­sia in

D mi­nor, Chopin’s Berceuse Op. 57, and Rach­mani­noff’s 6 Mo­ments Mu­si­caux, Op.16.

After the con­cert you’re in­vited to the Rov­ing Bar for re­fresh­ments, where Arseny will be meet­ing with au­di­ence mem­bers and be avail­able to sign copies of his CD.
