Sawtell set sail to­wards sil­ver­ware

Opposition teams in the North Coast Cricket Council Premier League will be hop­ing the bye com­bined with the hol­i­day break has taken the wind out of Sawtell’s sails but you wouldn’t count on it.

The com­pe­ti­tion’s bench­mark will take to the field for their first game of 2019 when they tackle Star Ho­tel today.

De­spite the two sides sit­ting at op­pos­ing ends of the lad­der, you can be guar­an­teed Sawtell cap­tain Richie Gal­lichan will have his troops on song for the con­test.

A win for Sawtell means they will be clos­ing in on this sea­son’s mi­nor pre­mier­ship, while a win for Star Ho­tel will keep their fad­ing fi­nals hopes alive.

The Macksville-based side have had a tough sea­son to date in the Premier League, and have yet to regis­ter their first win. The Sawtell v Star Ho­tel game is be­ing played at Richard­son Park from 1.30pm.
