Sharon is a Speaker, Author, and Coach and whether she is working with individuals or groups, the result is often the same: a new perspective, new insights, renewed vigor, and a changed outlook. Sharon's background had seen her spending her entire childhood navigating a war zone of domestic abuse, fraught with physical, emotional, and inappropriate sexualised behaviours. Her determination to believe in herself when no one else did fuels the fire in her belly, in becoming a voice to survivors. Sharon’s Mission is to, Destigmatize the impact of childhood domestic and family abuse, mental health, and dissociative identity disorder

Embrace Being in the Moment

Decades of living within a perpetual cycle of fight/flight responses, which is generally known as being in ‘survival’ mode. I never recognised what being in the moment was.

It was during my healing journey, I started to practice being in the moment. I have to tell you, it’s such an incredible feeling.

I just love this Eckhart Tolle’s quote:

“Whatever the present moment contains. Accept it as if you had chosen it.”

Who doesn’t love a good Eckhart Tolle quote?

I’ve learnt to practice self-reflection and become aware of the energy within my body, asking myself these important questions:

• Is this my energy or someone else’s?

• Do I need to do anything about this? If so, what?

• If no, let it go and just breathe, focusing on my surroundings and bringing myself back to present, the here and now.

Being in the moment for me has been amazing with so many opportunities manifested. This life we have, is way too short not to be in the moment.

Embrace whatever may come your way, for you never know where it will lead.

The #1 Amazon Best Selling Author "An Enlightened Life" we sat down with Sharon to find out more about herself and her passion for helping others.

Tell us why you are passionate about being a beacon of light for others?

Growing up, I wished I had someone to be my beacon of light. Who provided unconditional support. Holding space for the moments of sadness and confusion, whilst navigating the chaos of my life as well as celebrate the achievements.

It is the healing of the multi-layered adversity I’ve experienced, that drives my passion to keep going on this path.

Being a beacon of light for someone who may read or hear that one sentence within my story and just know, what they feel is not imagined, and there is hope.

Tell us why you are a leader in your field?

I’m more comfortable being recognised as an advocate, as well as a transformational coach, rather than a leader.

Speaking from a lived experience, of the impact of witnessing childhood domestic violence.

Sharing insights of my traumatic experiences, I can provide hope to someone else in their healing journey.

Tell us what the word "enlightened" means to you?

To me, enlightened means you rely on your own experiences to navigate the direction you take in life with confidence; yet being open-minded enough to embrace the lessons and blessons, that come your way.

What is your favourite quote about living An Enlightened Life?

“She remembered who she was, and the game changed” Lalah Deliah

The theme for this issue is "In the moment' what does this mean to you and how are you stepping into your own moment of being a best selling author?

Sharing our story of living with dissociative identity disorder has to be one of the most empowering moments in my life, validating of how far we have journeyed. I’m a firm believer in opportunities come about for a reason, not knowing exactly where it is going to lead.
