Ar­chi­tec­tural drafts­peo­ple look at the needs of aged oc­cu­pants, such as the door widths, cab­i­net heights and ramps.

“As they be­come more frail, they might be in a wheel­chair ... we de­sign all these with all that in mind,” he says.

A Cer­tifi­cate IV in Res­i­den­tial Draft­ing or Diploma of Build­ing De­sign are must-haves. Spe­cial­ist study in de­signs best suited for older peo­ple is pre­ferred.
