Architectural draftspeople look at the needs of aged occupants, such as the door widths, cabinet heights and ramps.
“As they become more frail, they might be in a wheelchair ... we design all these with all that in mind,” he says.
A Certificate IV in Residential Drafting or Diploma of Building Design are must-haves. Specialist study in designs best suited for older people is preferred.
