Th­ese work­ers are re­spon­si­ble for lead­ing groups of peo­ple in ex­er­cises and keep­ing par­tic­i­pants mo­ti­vated and mov­ing. The Cer­tifi­cate III in Fit­ness takes about nine weeks of full-time study plus time spent on prac­ti­cal place­ment. About 1500 more work­ers are ex­pected to be needed in the five years to May, 2022. Of the cur­rent work­force, the aver­age age is 34 – younger than the all-in­dus­try aver­age of 40 – and men make up more than 99 per cent of work­ers. The stan­dard qual­i­fi­ca­tion is a Cer­tifi­cate III in Light Ve­hi­cle Me­chan­i­cal Tech­nol­ogy, which is de­liv­ered as part of an ap­pren­tice­ship.
