DEVELOPERS of the $100 million Somerset Park have launched stage two of the Mackay project following completion of civil works. Strong buyer interest drove $29.3 million worth of sales for Trinity Property Consultants since the community was released about 12 months ago. Stage two includes 21 house and land packages and 24 duplexes. Marketing manager Adrian Parsons anticipated a quick uptake in a region undergoing major growth. “We have recorded strong interest from prospective buyers and investors for stage two,” he said. “Mackay is one of the fastestgrowing economies in Queensland and, as a result, there is persistent demand for new housing product. “Over the past decade the regional centre has boomed, experiencing population and economic growth as a result of its strong mining, agricultural and tourism industry. There is also a limited supply of new residential housing in the area, which is positioning Somerset Park as a hotspot for future buyers.” The estate is 6km from the CBD and 10 minutes to beaches.
