Developer Mosaic Property Group has promised to deliver a new level of prestige living for the Sunshine Coast, with the development already securing more than $35 million in sales before its official launch late last month.

Mosaic managing director Brook Monahan said the $100 million Avalon community would redefine “sophisticated luxury living” on the Sunshine Coast.

“There hasn’t been a project like this in Maroochydore – not this level of luxury, architecture, amenity, levels of finish and position,” Mr Monahan said. “It’s the type of cutting-edge design and innovation that would normally only be seen in a capital city.”

The “cutting edge” design is also a sustainable one, with the Urban Development Institute of Australia recognising Avalon with its 6-leaf Envirodevelopment certification.

Among Avalon’s sustainable features will be rainwater harvesting, WELS-rated fixtures, solar power for common property and ample insulation to reduce cooling and heating costs.

“It’s a rare combination of unsurpassed luxury and amenity, unrivalled location and unprecedented economic growth,” Mr Monahan said.

“The long-term vision and focus on innovation, together with the economic diversity, infrastructure and overall growth trajectory is attracting strong investment and business connections, making Maroochydore one of the most exciting and potentially rewarding business destinations in Australia.”

The project will comprise 87 apartments in two buildings at Duporth Ave, on the banks of the Maroochy River and 1.2km from the new Maroochydore CBD.

Mr Monahan said the development would revitalise the waterfront precinct.

“Avalon will reconnect Duporth Ave to what is emerging as the Sunshine Coast’s epicentre of commerce, technology, innovation, entertainment and inner-city living,” he said. “Maroochydore is being transformed into a city of the future and Avalon will become a new destination that will epitomise the creative, innovative and inspirational concepts that are unfolding in the area.”

The riverfront building will comprise only 16 residences, including full floor and half floor penthouses and sub-penthouses, with three or four bedrooms, a study or retreat, three (plus) bathrooms and four car spaces. It has direct river access with a private pontoon.

The second building on the street-front will feature 33 three-bedroom apartments and 38 two-bedroom apartments.

Of the design, Mr Monahan said it would emphasis space, light and contemporary style.

“Each apartment is superbly crafted to embody luxury and comfort, while delivering the ultimate in riverfront living,” he said.

“Every intricate detail, down to the prestigious inclusions and finishes, sets a new benchmark in coastal style.”

Construction is scheduled to start in November with completion due in the second half of 2020.
