Developer Mo­saic Prop­erty Group has promised to de­liver a new level of pres­tige liv­ing for the Sun­shine Coast, with the development al­ready se­cur­ing more than $35 mil­lion in sales be­fore its of­fi­cial launch late last month.

Mo­saic man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Brook Mon­a­han said the $100 mil­lion Avalon com­mu­nity would re­de­fine “so­phis­ti­cated lux­ury liv­ing” on the Sun­shine Coast.

“There hasn’t been a project like this in Ma­roochy­dore – not this level of lux­ury, ar­chi­tec­ture, amenity, lev­els of fin­ish and po­si­tion,” Mr Mon­a­han said. “It’s the type of cut­ting-edge de­sign and in­no­va­tion that would nor­mally only be seen in a cap­i­tal city.”

The “cut­ting edge” de­sign is also a sus­tain­able one, with the Ur­ban Development In­sti­tute of Aus­tralia recog­nis­ing Avalon with its 6-leaf En­vi­rode­vel­op­ment cer­ti­fi­ca­tion.

Among Avalon’s sus­tain­able fea­tures will be rain­wa­ter har­vest­ing, WELS-rated fix­tures, so­lar power for com­mon prop­erty and am­ple in­su­la­tion to re­duce cool­ing and heat­ing costs.

“It’s a rare com­bi­na­tion of un­sur­passed lux­ury and amenity, un­ri­valled lo­ca­tion and un­prece­dented eco­nomic growth,” Mr Mon­a­han said.

“The long-term vi­sion and fo­cus on in­no­va­tion, to­gether with the eco­nomic di­ver­sity, in­fra­struc­ture and over­all growth tra­jec­tory is at­tract­ing strong in­vest­ment and busi­ness con­nec­tions, mak­ing Ma­roochy­dore one of the most ex­cit­ing and po­ten­tially re­ward­ing busi­ness des­ti­na­tions in Aus­tralia.”

The project will com­prise 87 apart­ments in two build­ings at Du­porth Ave, on the banks of the Ma­roochy River and 1.2km from the new Ma­roochy­dore CBD.

Mr Mon­a­han said the development would re­vi­talise the wa­ter­front precinct.

“Avalon will re­con­nect Du­porth Ave to what is emerg­ing as the Sun­shine Coast’s epi­cen­tre of com­merce, tech­nol­ogy, in­no­va­tion, en­ter­tain­ment and in­ner-city liv­ing,” he said. “Ma­roochy­dore is be­ing trans­formed into a city of the fu­ture and Avalon will be­come a new des­ti­na­tion that will epit­o­mise the cre­ative, in­no­va­tive and in­spi­ra­tional con­cepts that are un­fold­ing in the area.”

The river­front build­ing will com­prise only 16 res­i­dences, in­clud­ing full floor and half floor pen­t­houses and sub-pen­t­houses, with three or four bed­rooms, a study or re­treat, three (plus) bath­rooms and four car spa­ces. It has di­rect river ac­cess with a pri­vate pon­toon.

The sec­ond build­ing on the street-front will fea­ture 33 three-bed­room apart­ments and 38 two-bed­room apart­ments.

Of the de­sign, Mr Mon­a­han said it would em­pha­sis space, light and con­tem­po­rary style.

“Each apart­ment is su­perbly crafted to em­body lux­ury and com­fort, while de­liv­er­ing the ul­ti­mate in river­front liv­ing,” he said.

“Ev­ery in­tri­cate de­tail, down to the pres­ti­gious in­clu­sions and fin­ishes, sets a new bench­mark in coastal style.”

Con­struc­tion is sched­uled to start in Novem­ber with com­ple­tion due in the sec­ond half of 2020.
