BUILDER TAKES TOP GONG WITH HAMPTONS-STYLE HOUSE
A light-filled Hamptons-style home has stolen the hearts of buyers and judges alike, taking out the President’s Award at the Master Builders Gold Coast Housing and Construction Awards.
A hotly-contested category, this year the judges chose GJ Gardner Homes Gold Coast North display village offering, Beachmere at Helensvale as the standout winner for the major award. The four-bedroom home features a butler’s pantry, multiple living areas and a double garage.
The President’s Award is presented to a home the average Queenslander can aspire to own. In addition to achieving high points against the standard judging criteria, the construction cost of the winning home must not exceed $350,000.
GJ Gardner Homes Gold Coast general manager, Simon Curtis said Hamptons-style homes were the flavour of the month and the layout was the cherry-on-top for buyers.
“The design of the home has the master bedroom and the parents’ retreat separate to the children’s area,” Mr Curtis said.
“Then there’s three bedrooms with their own activity space and the house wraps around an internal courtyard. We wanted something that appealed to our market; second and third home buyers.”
Mr Curtis said the design gave them a point of difference and suited their corner block.
“We wanted a corner block as the design spills out onto an expansive space and we can customise the house to suit the shape of the lot,” he said.
GJ Gardner Homes Gold Coast North also won Display Home $215,000-$350,000 for Gold Coast Beachmere Display at Helensvale and Individual Home up to $250,000 for Oceanside Whitsunday Circuit at Pimpama.
Mr Curtis said the awards were fantastic acknowledgement of their work. “We’re a family-owned business,” he said. “Everyone puts their heart and soul in and to be recognised highlights the quality of construction that we deliver.” To see their work, visit the Master Builders display village, Pacific Cove, Sudbury Dr, Pimpama.
