The Courier-Mail was granted an ex­clu­sive pre­view of the lux­ury pen­t­house apart­ment at Ve­loc­ity Prop­erty Group’s lat­est de­vel­op­ment —

ONE Palm Beach — on the Gold Coast. Oc­cu­py­ing a beach­front site, the nine-storey de­vel­op­ment of­fers 17 new res­i­dences — although only three re­main for sale, in­clud­ing the grand pen­t­house.

Span­ning 466sq m, the pen­t­house oc­cu­pies the top floor, with 360 de­gree views of the Gold Coast hin­ter­land out to the ocean. It has four bed­rooms, in­clud­ing a main suite and soak­ing tub with ocean views, four bath­rooms and pow­der room, me­dia room and two liv­ing ar­eas.

The kitchen fea­tures mar­ble bench­tops, a but­ler’s pantry and state-of-the-art ap­pli­ances.

ONE Palm Beach has di­rect beach ac­cess, a yoga deck and a de­signer pool sur­rounded by gar­dens. In the foyer, there is a liv­ing “green wall” to re­duce heat and sound.

Ve­loc­ity Prop­erty Group man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Bren­don Ansell said the de­vel­op­ment was the sec­ond project on the Gold Coast for the com­pany af­ter it sold out ONE Burleigh

Head­land which was com­pleted in March last year.

“Ve­loc­ity Prop­erty has been in Bris­bane for years, but we were ex­cited to come down to the Gold Coast,” Mr Ansell said.

He said the stan­dard of in­clu­sions through­out ONE Palm Beach was very high.

“We have a lot of up­grade op­tions, be­cause it’s pref­er­ence based, some peo­ple pre­fer tile floor­ing, some peo­ple pre­fer tim­ber floor­ing,” Mr Ansell said.

“You’ve got to have a base and al­low for up­grades, which can be early on.

“We try to en­cour­age our buy­ers to en­gage quite early and have more say in our de­sign.”

He said most of the buy­ers were down­siz­ers and had come from Bris­bane, the north­ern end of the Gold Coast and in­ter­na­tion­ally. But about half of the buy­ers had been lo­cal.

“They have to be­lieve in what you’re do­ing in their sub­urb,” he said.

“We create ex­clu­sive com­mu­ni­ties that peo­ple are proud to be a part of — we en­hance the sub­urb. We put a lot of ef­fort into our build­ings as well.

“On ONE Palm Beach, the roof is fully so­lar. “We ac­tu­ally pour an­other slab on the roof and use the en­tire roof for so­lar.

“The pen­t­house has an ex­clu­sive so­lar al­lo­ca­tion and a Tesla power wall.

“The com­mon ar­eas, in­clud­ing the foyer, base­ment and lifts are 100 per cent so­lar pow­ered to re­duce body cor­po­rate fees and on­go­ing en­ergy costs.”
