WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

You must be over 18, build or renovate the home to live in for least a year and not earn more than $125,000. Couples must not earn more than $200,000. Renovations must cost between $150,000 and $750,000, and the home cannot be valued at more than $1.5m. Queenslanders building new homes can spend up to $750,000 (including land costs). Victorians up to $850,000 and in NSW the cap is $950,000.
