WINDOW DRESSING

The Courier-Mail - Motoring - - Cover Story -

The Colorado’s windows can’t be tinted because of a quirk in its electronics. To appeal to global markets and add a luxury trait, the windows automatically lower by about 5cm as the door opens — so if the door is slammed it does not result in a deafening thud inside.

This feature can’t be disabled, which means window tinters can’t apply the film without it being spoiled by the automatic opening. Customarily it takes three days for window tinting to cure.
