The vendors of 16 Shaw Street, Auchenflower, had good reason to be confident going to auction.

Their property had attracted six offers prior to the in rooms auction at the Indooroopilly Golf Club on August 26.

Marketing agent Dion Verzeletti of Ray White Toowong said there had been a massive amount of interest in the three-bedroom, two-bathroom Queenslander leading up to the auction.

’’There were 130 inspections over the four week campaign,’’ Mr Verzeletti said.

On the night, 10 registered bidders fought it out with over 40 bids until it came down to the final two bidders having a dual to the end.

With an opening bid of $650,000, auctioneer Sam Kelso managed the bids until the property sold for $765,000, an impressive $55,000 above the reserve.

’’The crowd was excited,’’ Mr Verzeletti said. ’’It was probably the key auction of the night with the amount of people there.

’’Auchenflower is a fantastic area. The auction attracted not just the buyers and bidders; three people had conditional interest if by chance the house hadn’t sold under the hammer.’’
