Auction campaigns heating up after break
WHILE many agencies have come to rely on big in-room auction campaigns as a marketing tool, they have been few and far between since just before Christmas.
The odd property has been taken to auction over the period but it seems most won’t get back into it until late January or early February.
With so many locals disappearing for holiday breaks there is just not enough time to build the momentum needed to get a good turnout.
The Gold Coast market is a different story.
They are preparing for an onslaught of potential buyers this month, with cashed-up visitors here for Magic Millions.
Many of the agencies on the Gold Coast plan big auction campaigns to take advantage of the captive audience.
Buyers in Queensland and particularly Brisbane have historically been a little reticent to buy at auction.
According to RP Data figures there are 238 properties listed for auction in Queensland this week, compared to 53 the previous week and 23 the week leading into Christmas.
