Rising above flood concerns
A FLOOD-AFFECTED property at Hargreaves Ave, Chelmer, has sold under the hammer in a deal worth $1.05 million.
Water had entered the garage of the home during the January 2011 floods, but not the living areas.
The property was owned by Terry and Gail Houlihan and has been bought by Tim Lakos of Lakos Property Solutions and Elizabeth Clayton.
The home was marketed by Brad Robson and Peter May of Brisbane Real Estate.
Mr Robson said Mr Lakos had lived in Chelmer previously and had just returned to Brisbane from Sydney.
There were only two registered bidders trying to secure the home with bidding starting at $750,000 before stalling at $990,000.
The home was then placed on the market before progressing to its eventual sale price.
