Relax in total privacy
THIS stylish ground-floor apartment offers all the amenities of modern indoor/ outdoor living alongside an enviable location in one of Brisbane’s popular riverside suburbs.
A modern interior designed to make the most of the location complements the quality fixtures and fittings throughout, along with the attention to detail.
Owners David and Cris Buckley purchased the property after deciding they wanted an apartment with a more open-plan style.
“Even though it’s an apartment, it’s really a villa on the river,” Mr Buckley said.
“It’s great for entertainment, it has a huge outdoor area which opens up, it overlooks the river and it has a private plunge pool.”
The residence’s main entrance opens to a hallway leading towards a water feature with fountain.
To the left of the entranceway is the large living and dining area, adjacent to the kitchen which is finished in granite with timber appointments and comes complete with stainless steel appliances. A granite island bench also features here, separating the cooking space from the accompanying family room.
Banks of bi-fold doors open to the covered terrace, which overlooks the river and the property’s pool, as well as providing access to the built-in barbecue area.
Retractable aluminium shutters in the family room, dining and living space further add to the indoor/outdoor living options, Mr Buckley said.
“They allow us to enjoy the outside area while still being secure,” he said.
“The outdoors is the area we’d spend 80 per cent of our time because of the shutters and the like, we’ve got the full use of that area and it backs on to the kitchen area.”
To the right of the foyer is the sleeping quarters, with the main bedroom overlooking the water feature and enjoying a walk-through wardrobe.
Two other bedrooms include built-in wardrobes and sliding doors opening to a shared courtyard.
A modern bathroom with shower and a laundry are also in this part of the house.
Mr Buckley said the property had great breezes along with high-grade finishes including top-quality timber appointments and granite in the kitchen.
“It’s really a quiet and nice area of New Farm. There are not a lot of apartments around this area and it doesn’t have the highrises going in in Newstead,” he said.
“It’s a great place to have friends over and relax, it’s so close to the facilities – we’ve got the CityCat stop outside the back door, bus services outside the front door, it’s close to Merthyr Village and the Powerhouse and there’s the Riverwalk back into the city.
“The facilities are just great.”
