Lizzie Loel has a fan­tas­tic job. Restau­rant crit­ics, when not pen­ning a re­port, seem to travel from one venue to an­other on a gas­tro­nomic hol­i­day. Loel’s cri­tique of Wild Ca­nary at Brook­field (Restau­rant, Apr 5-6) left me won­der­ing just why she only awarded it 15/20. The food on of­fer sounded de­lec­ta­ble, served in an amaz­ing gar­den set­ting, so we are left to­tally up in the air (with the ca­naries) as to the rea­sons be­hind her score of 75 per cent. I am await­ing the day a restau­rant scores 20/20.
