CHANGE AGENT

Thank you, Rosie Ayliffe, “Honouring Mia” (March 27-28), for drawing our attention to the failings of our Australian backpacker system. I am ashamed to confess I was not aware of the “culture of exploitation” and unscrupulous practices endured by visitors to our country, who do so much to support the Aussie agricultural industry. Thank you also for campaigning for better regulations and the registering of inspected workplaces and Government-led training regarding Australian workplace practices, and personal safety.
