Fifth body found after Texas flood
HOUSTON: Search teams have found another body on the bank of the Blanco River in San Marcos, Texas
The body of the as-yet-unidentified man was found in a debris pile on Thursday. The body will be autopsied to determine his identity.
The find raises the number of bodies found in Hays County from last weekend’s flooding to five.
Eight people are still listed as missing in Hays County.
The find also raises the total number of known dead following the ferocious storms and flash flooding to 24, including 20 in Texas.
Floodwaters are still receding but at least two-thirds of Texas, the second-largest state in the US, were submerged during the week.
The damages bill is yet to be determined but it will run to billions.
