HODGO OK TO STEP AWAY

- CHRIS GARRY

HOLDING his 18-month-old son Carter, his arm around wife Gyanne, it is easy to understand why Justin Hodges is retiring from rugby league.

Broncos skipper Hodges will call time on his NRL career at the end of this season.

He will transition to an assistant coaching role and work in the indigenous community, although he has told his wife something much different.

“I told her I might just stay home and play computer games. I have done my hard work,” Hodges said jokingly.

“I will work as hard offf the field as I did on the field.”

Gyanne said there was a sense of relief now Justin has made what was a tough decision.

“We are really proud of him and there’s a bit of relief today that he’s announced he’s retiring,” she said.
