Five children escape car, boat rollover
FIVE children escaped serious injury when the car they were in rolled near Bundaberg.
They were among eight people in the vehicle that was towing a boat when it rolled at Avondale, north of Bundaberg, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said.
Three people were taken to Bundaberg Hospital with minor injuries, although it was unclear last night if any of them were children.
Meanwhile a one-year-old baby boy has been taken to hospital after an unoccupied car rolled into his stroller in Rockhampton.
The boy suffered leg injuries and abrasions in the accident just after noon yesterday, a QAS spokeswoman said.
The injured baby was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
The accidents come after two people died in a road crash west of Bundaberg at the weekend. Police said a car and a truck collided on the Bruce Highway at Kolonga, about 40km north of Gin Gin, around 4.30pm on Sunday.
The drivers of both the truck and the car died at the scene, while a passenger in the truck was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate.
