GYMPIE has become a temporary home for a string of Aussie actors.

Horror film Boar has started filming in the town north of the Sunshine Coast. Packed to the Rafters star

Hugh Sheridan brought attention to the fact filming had begun with a series of picturesqu­e photos of Gympie on social media.

The movie will be Sheridan’s first role since the INXS teleseries, Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS.

He is just one of the noteworthy talents who have signed on for the production. Veteran actor John Jarratt plays a lead role of Lozza, alongside Hey Dad star Simone Buchanan. Singeracto­r Melissa Tkautz plays Sasha. The Gold Coast’s Nathan

Jones has been cast on the back of his performanc­e in Mad Max: Fury Road.

This could be a potential breakout role for young Queensland actor Christie

Lee Britten, who had minor roles in Hollywood blockbuste­rs, San Andreas and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Sun who recently brought Tara Reid to Australia for horror movie Charlie’s Farm that was also filmed just outside the Sunshine Coast.

Sun said he was excited about his new movie in which a group of teenagers are trapped in the woods with a boar.

The film is due for release in July next year.
