OUR DOLLAR TO HOLD VALUE Canberra –The Federal Government will not take the Australian dollar down in line with New Zealand’s currency devaluation, announced yesterday. This will mean Australian goods – rural and manufactured products – will be 15 per cent dearer in New Zealand, and where they compete with New Zealand goods elsewhere. The Premier (Mr Bjelke-Petersen) demanded immediate devaluation of the Australian dollar.
