‘HE CAPTAINED THIS CLUB AND AT THE BRONCOS Why Hodges wants to go out on his terms

-

WAYNE Bennett stops in the hallway outside the Broncos boardroom and says “I need to make another point about Justin Hodges”.

“He captained this club and at the Broncos we don’t just hand out captaincies,” Bennett told The CourierMail.

“During his early days here I never imagined he would be captain but he deserves it.”

Hodges called time on his NRL career yesterday. He will go down alongside Steve Renouf as the Broncos’ best centre and alongside Mal Meninga and Gene Miles as Queensland’s best centre.

A premiership this season would be a dream finish for Hodges and is a realistic chance as the Broncos lead the ladder for the first time since Darren Lockyer retired.
