NEWS KID ON THE BLOCK SNAPS UP RARE BULLETIN GIG

-

COULD it be that the Ten Network has turned a corner?

After mass redundancies at the network just a few years ago and on the back of a bump in the ratings thanks to shows like The Bachelor and The Great Australian Spelling Bee, the network is now throwing more energy into its 5pm news bulletin.

Leading that charge is new recruit to Brisbane Lachlan Kennedy, who will move permanently to the desk beside Georgina Lewis (pictured), from September 7.

The former US correspondent has been based in Sydney most recently and will relocate to take up the new role.

“These gigs are as rare as hen’s teeth,” Kennedy said.

“You have to take the opportunity with both hands. Hopefully it gives me a lot of room to grow.”
