IN GALLIPOLI: SUBSTANTIAL PROGRESS MADE London, Tuesday – The Press Bureau states: General Sir Ian Hamilton reports: There has been fighting at several points during the last few days, and substantial progress has been made. Two hundred yards have been gained on one front, and 300 in the southern zone, eastward of the Krithia road. These gains have been held despite counter-attacks, which were repulsed with heavy loss to the enemy. Turkish attacks in the same zone were beaten off.
