VETERANS FOLLOW THE TRACKS OF HISTORY Sixty years after Australian soldiers were shuttled across the country on their way to war, veteran Bill Curtis and 150 other former service personnel and war widows are retracing an epic journey. The trip from Brisbane to Townsville was one that many young people made, a journey from their homes in southern Queensland, NSW and Victoria to Townsville where they boarded ships bound for war. Some did not return.
