Tomic in groove

-

AUSTRALIA’S Bernard Tomic yesterday has cast aside his Washington disappointment to advance to the next round of the ATP Masters in Montreal.

The world No.26 beat Portugal’s Joao Sousa 6-3, 6-3 to set up a second round match with tournament No.6 seed Marin Cilic.

Tomic went down in the second round of the Washington Open in his first match back in the US since his arrest in Miami.

He can expect tough opposition in Cilic though as the Croatian was narrowly beaten by Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the semi-finals in Washington.
