Ghosts get Gibb back to music
BARRY Gibb feels his late brothers close to him and that they have given him a message to get back to making music.
So he has, finishing work on a new album, his first without the Bee Gees, to be released next year.
Gibb says it has taken time to get over the deaths of brothers Maurice in 2003 and Robin in 2012.
“It took me a long while to get there because I was angry, I couldn’t accept it,” Gibb told today’s edition of Canvas.
He was talking ahead of his return to Australia for the opening of the second stage of Bee Gees Way in Redcliffe on September 11, and a charity concert with Olivia NewtonJohn in Melbourne.
The new album features songs written with Barry’s sons Stephen and Ashley. “I would say the direction is all the influences that have ever entered my body,” Gibb said.
