Child-porn search at mansion of KISS star
LOS ANGELES: KISS frontman Gene Simmons’ home has been searched by police as part of an investigation into child pornography.
Detectives from a taskforce investigating internet crimes against children visited the star’s Los Angeles mansion and executed a search warrant – but neither the singer nor his family are suspects.
According to TMZ, someone supposedly downloaded illicit images of children on one of their home computers.
Simmons was away on tour with the band at the time the alleged crimes were believed to have been committed.
The 65-year-old has been told not to discuss the police investigation.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said: “No one in the Simmons family is a suspect in this investigation.”
They would not elaborate as the investigation was ongoing. Lieutenant John Jenal added the family were being “extremely co-operative”.
