Pope’s US tour welcomes children from all religions


NEW YORK: Pope e Francis plans to o meet children from a diverse range of background­s duringg his coming US tour.

Essa Nahshal,, the seven-year-oldd son of Muslim parents from Yemen, is one of 24 students picked to meet the Pope in New York next month and he could not be happier.

“I’m not nervous at all,” he grinned ahead o of the Pontiff’s arrival in the Big Apple on Septemb ber 24-25, the seco ond leg of his in inaugural US tour. ““I’m just happy.”

Pope Francis (pictured) will ill visit the United Nations, lead mass at Madison Square Garden and visit the 9/11 Memorial. He is determined to meet representa­tive groups of children, meaning a quarter will not be Christian.
