The closed season for murray cod has been changed to coincide with the New South Wales closed season. The dates are from September 1 to November 30. During the closure murray cod cannot be taken from rivers and creeks, although fishers can continue to fish for them in any of the state’s stocked impoundments. The closed season is important to allow the fish to reproduce so there are fish for future generations to enjoy. If you are fishing for murray cod outside the closed area, a minimum size of 60cm and maximum 110cm, and bag limit of two applies in Queensland. For more information on closed seasons visit the website or call 13 25 23.
