THE WORLD AT THEIR FEET
WHEN Courtney Thorpe hands over her Miss World Australia crown it will be after she has done her best to make sure it stays in Queensland.
The beauty queen, 25, has spent the past few months training this year’s Sunshine State contestants and she is confident there is a winner among them.
One of her favourites is Tess Alexander, 22 (pictured far right with Thorpe), a Brisbane personal trainer. “Tess is gorgeous. I’ve known her for quite a few years and she is beautiful inside and out,” she said. “I have been sharing my knowledge with the Queensland girls so we can keep the crown here and I have literally been on call to them.”
After a busy year as ambassador of several charities, Thorpe is now studying law at QUT.
Alexander and the seven other Queensland contenders will vie for the title against more than 50 other Australian hopefuls at a ceremony in Perth on Sunday.
