Stars eye Ashes

-

THE Southern Stars can win the Ashes in Chelmsford tonight if they defeat England in the first T20 match.

Australia leads eight points to two after winning the Test, and the one-day series 2-1.

Southern Stars captain Meg Lanning said her side, which has not won the Ashes on English soil since 2001, was embracing the challenge.

“We’re expecting a really tough game, but hopefully we can perform really well,” she said. Australia was successful in three T20 matches against Ireland in the lead-up to tonight, with debutant Grace Harris, 21, a revelation, winning player of the series.
