TOUR FIRM IN HOME AND AWAY BLUE WITH SEVEN
A HOME and Away tour operator has accused Channel 7 of damaging his business in a dispute over the right to use the name of the hit TV soap. For seven years, Ross
Mudie has bused tourists around its Sydney locations.
But in May, the network warned him against using the Home and Away brand as it breached Seven’s trademark.
Mudie has now accused the network of policing the brand (maybe Pia Miller, above, as Constable Katarina Chapman, could help) only because of his success and taking “a slice of the pie that we built”.
A Seven spokeswoman said: “All things to do with Channel Seven and any of our programs we take very seriously – which is why we copyright and register titles and their associated elements.”
