Phones hit MCG drone
A DRONE crash near the MCG during the cricket World Cup was probably caused by interference from mobile phones and broadcast equipment, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau says.
The drone was launched to capture footage as the teams entered the MCG on March 26, but it crashed on a median strip on busy Batman Ave.
The ATSB report found that the drone’s operators had not considered the possibility of radio interference causing control issues. No one was injured in the crash.
