Head rolls in jail saga

MEXICO CITY: Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has replaced the country’s national security chief one month after drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman escaped from a maximum security jail.

Guzman’s July 11 escape proved a major embarrassment to the government.

National Security Commission head Monte Alejandro Rubido faces stiff questioning over the lopsided death toll in a federal police shootout with drug suspects in May in which 42 suspects and one policeman were killed.
