Japanese giant on way, jackets and all


PUFFER jackets will invade Brisbane later this year, when Japanese retail giant Uniqlo opens its first Queensland stores.

Indooroopi­lly and Brisbane City are on track to open by summer with a huge 2000 sq m concept store earmarked for the old Broadway on the Mall.

The large storefront will make it Uniqlo’s second biggest store in Australia, filled with the brand’s signature sta- ple clothing, homewares and infamous puffer jackets.

Brisbane shoppers will have access to the full range of products available overseas starting with the new spring/summer range.

But if jobseekers were hoping to take advantage of Uniqlo’s new four-day working week, they will be disappoint­ed; it’s currently only available to Japanese employees. JACINDA TUTTY
