GREENLIGHTTO FASTFOOD

- JACINDA TUTTY

GREEN juices and steamed vegies are replacing fast food and sugary treats faster than a kale crop shoots in spring time.

Miss Bliss Whole Foods Kitchen opened its doors at West End in Brisbane and owner Jacqui Toumbas already plans to expand into a wholesale range and healthy cooking workshops. Ms Toumbas started making bliss balls and posting recipes on her health blog while studying for a nutrition degree.

She started crafting small treats to give to friends and, after giving her local coffee shop a bliss ball hamper for Christmas, she landed her first retailer to launch her business.

Her products are now stocked in more than 20 cafes around Brisbane.

“It started with a passion to provide healthy, nourishing food to Brisbane locals,” Ms Toumbas said. “I now have a venue, a full commercial kitchen and a location to call my own. Expanding my brand and having a base is now what I’m focused on doing,” she said.
