Garmin has taken its best watch for runners, the Forerunner 220, and made it better. The two additions are an activity tracker with sleep monitoring and a wrist-based heart-rate monitor — a first for Garmin — with simple colour bars to show your exertion zone. It’s waterproof to 50m, has a battery life of four weeks as a watch, or up to 10 hours with GPS and heart-rate tracking, works with Garmin’s excellent app, and can be programmed with personalis­ed workouts. Runners now have a new Garmin watch to top their wish list.
