Cats’ Kelly calls it a day

-

JAMES Kelly has confirmed his career at Geelong will end on Saturday, as focus shifts to the defender Corey Enright.

Veteran Enright is remaining tight-lipped as to whether he will join Kelly and Mathew Stokes in a farewell against Adelaide. Fellow triple flag star Steve Johnson will also play his last game for the Cats.

The decision over whether Enright plays a 17th AFL season has been left to him.

But Kelly yesterday gave the strongest indication that his last game at Geelong would be the end of his career.

“Football’s a huge part of your life, albeit for a short period of time,” Kelly said.

“The overwhelming (feeling) I have at the moment is I am just really grateful – grateful for the people I’ve met, grateful for all the fun we’ve been able to have.”
