NZ visitors head list of arrivals
TRAVELLERS from New Zealand have topped the latest tally of visitors to Australia.
Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show 33,900 more people visited Australia in July than in the same month last year and the biggest increase was from New Zealand.
There were 112,300 arrivals from across the ditch in the month, a rise of 11,500, or 11.4 per cent, from July 2014, accounting for 18.5 per cent of the total number of overseas visitors. China was second with 81,600 visitors, a rise of 8100, or 11 per cent.
Travellers from China, which has more than doubled its flow of visitors to Australia in the past five years, made up 13.4 per cent of the 607,000 arrivals in July.
