Footy star’s love child shock
MAROONS star Greg Inglis chose Father’s Day yesterday to reveal to fans that he has a secret son named Riley.
In a candid Instagram post, the 28-year-old, who also has a one-year-old son named Nate, shared how he had fathered Riley in 2009 while he was on a “well publicised” break from his now wife, Sally (Robinson).
Inglis posted an assortment of photos of Riley to the social media site and spoke of how he had kept him hidden from the public due to the wishes of the boy’s mother, his “high school sweetheart”.
“During a well publicised break in 2009 from my beautiful partner Sally, who is now my lovely wife, I briefly reconnected with my high school sweet heart (sic),” Inglis wrote.
“The result being this awesome and outgoing boy named Riley. His mother is a very private person, but now that he has started school, we need Riley to know that I’m proud to call him my son.” The “well publicised” break between Inglis and Robinson came after he was accused of assaulting her.
The pair has since reconciled, and married on the Sunshine Coast in December 2010.
Inglis used his revelation yesterday to call on all fathers to be the best they can.
The Courier-Mail tried to reach Inglis for comment but was told he would not be speaking any further about Riley. LEAGUE NEWS 58-63
