Granny, 81, lives to joke about her horror crash

AN 81-year-old grandmother survived after rolling her car 15 metres down a bank.

Kitty Breeden (pictured) broke her ankle and suffered facial injuries in the accident near her Mudgeeraba home on the Gold Coast hinterland on Thursday.

Georgia Breeden, 17, said it was “terrifying” seeing her grandmother’s car on its side at the bottom of an embankment.

Georgia said her grandmother, who was trapped for seven hours, thought she might die. She was found by her son, Sean, an off-duty paramedic, after dark and had to be cut out of her car.

Ms Breeden was rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

Georgia said her grandmother was trapped by her seatbelt in the crushed vehicle and sounded its horn for help.

“She was making jokes about it in hospital,” Georgia said.
