Wayne won’t quit

WAYNE Rooney says he will never choose to retire from international football.

England have recently lost Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard, who all decided to retire.

But Rooney, 29, says he will play on until the manager decides his time is up.

‘‘It’ll be the manager’s choice more than mine,” he said. “It’s a huge honour to play for England and it’ll be difficult to say I’m ready not to play.’’

The Manchester United striker will be 32 by the time of the 2018 World Cup.

“I feel I’m capable of going to Russia,” he said.
