GOOD to know the laws regarding lane filter speeds and road shoulder use for motorbike riders, as revealed by columnist Marg Wenham ( C-M, Apr 18). Apparently, bike riders who choose to lane filter on Kingston Rd don’t know the 30km/h speed limit for doing so. They are also unaware that no roads in the area have speed limits of 90km/h or more, which would allow them to ride on road shoulders. Note to bikers: Car drivers are boxed in steel while you just have the clothes and any protective gear you are wearing. It seems like a deadly choice as you speed between cars, buses and trucks.
