AUSTRALIA’S best teachers are in the running to score an out-of-this-world experience.

Nominations are open for the ASG National Excellence in Teaching Awards, which reward teachers who have made a difference in their students’ lives.

The main prize is a trip to an international space camp in the US.

ASG chief Tim MitchellAdams, whose scholarship plan company is sponsoring the awards, said nominations were at a record high.

Winners can also opt for a $5000 grant for training.
