WORD ON THE STREET

What do you think about the Government plan to hold a royal commission into aged care? Noon, New Farm Park By Sophie Chirgwin

The Courier-Mail - - LETTERS -

JENNY CALDOW 54, unemployed, Algester It is well and truly needed and long overdue. More needs to be done for them. They need looking after and are worth more than the way they’re being treated.

CATHERINE HELLYER 45, executive assistant, Paddington It is probably long overdue and definitely needed. I think people don’t tend to listen enough to the elderly.

MATTHEW O’NEILL 23, excavator, Westlake I think holding a royal commission is a great idea. It’s about time something was done for our senior citizens.

LORENZO IEZZI 62, project manager, Caloundra I think there have been too many questions raised in the past. The elderly should be able to grow old with dignity.

LAUREN FISHER 37, communications manager, Moorooka It’s good if they take a decision and put it into action. I think something definitely needs to be done, but I have very little faith anything will.

ALEX CADDIE 51, social worker, West End I think there does need to be an inquiry. With staff-to-resident ratios, employees are overworked and can’t spend quality time needed with the elderly.
