Upgrade to close track
RAIL signalling upgrades will force a major closure of southeast Queensland’s transport network over Christmas.
Queensland Rail has advised that buses will replace trains on some lines from December 22-29 while it implements technology to work with the new European Train Control System. In that time, trains will not run between Roma Street and Darra stations.
Queensland Rail chief executive Nick Easy said the changes were necessary to allow greater flexibility in the rail network.
All journeys using replacement buses will be free.
